Failing to provide an umpire will incur a fine. 




Competition Details

Dates: Thursday nights running from 9 October 2025 – 10th December 2025

Time/Format

  1. 4 x 10-minute quarters (1-minute quarter time breaks & 2-minute half time break)
  2. 6.00pm and 6.00pm rounds

Equipment

  1. Teams are to supply their own ball. WNC can provide bibs on request.
  2. Please make sure all players and umpires are in appropriate footwear. 

Umpires Team Duties
Please check the draw for umpire & team duties. All teams need to supply their own umpire.  

Scoring

  • Scoring will be done via the Netball New Zealand Scoring App:
    • MyNetball Manager on the App Store or Google play
    • Instructions on how to use the app are available on the WNC website.
  • Access codes will be sent to each team prior to the competition.
  • It is each team’s responsibility to have a scorer present and standing side-by-side with the opposition’s scorer.


Draws

  • Draws will be available on our website: Whangarei Netball Centre – Draws & Results
  • All teams and umpires must check into control prior to their game


Canteen

  • Our canteen will be open on Thursdays for the duration of the Twilight Series. Come along and grab a snack or drink before or after your game!


Rules

All games are played under Netball New Zealand standard rules, including:

  • Rolling substitutions are permitted.
  • No layups are allowed in both Fast5 and Twilight formats.
  • No jewellery is allowed on court.
  • Nails must be short and smooth — gel nails are not permitted.

Players maybe be removed from court due to player safety regarding noncompliance.


Mixed Team Rules (Social, Competitive & Intermediate Grades – 7-Aside)

  • A maximum of three (3) male players are allowed on court at one time.
  • Males must be positioned across different thirds of the court:
    • One in the attacking third (GS or GA)
    • One in the midcourt (WA, C, or WD)
    • One in the defensive third (GD or GK)
  • There is no minimum number of female players — all-female teams are permitted.
