MANAGERS

Empowering Teams On and Off the Court

Being a Team Manager is a vital way to contribute to the success of your team and the wider netball community. Managers play a key role in ensuring each representative and club team operates smoothly, professionally, and with a focus on the wellbeing and development of every player.

Team management goes beyond paperwork and logistics – it’s about building trust, supporting players and coaches, and helping deliver a positive competitive experience for everyone involved.

What Team Managers Do

Managers are responsible for the off-court coordination that enables teams to perform at their best. Core responsibilities typically include:

  • Organising team activities: scheduling trainings, coordinating team communication, and liaising with coaches.

  • Competition logistics: managing registrations, match day requirements, fixtures, and equipment.

  • Travel and accommodation: planning travel arrangements and accommodation for tournaments and representative events.

  • Administration & finance: overseeing team finances, fundraising, and managing budgets.

  • Compliance & support: ensuring teams follow centre policies, player welfare protocols, and communication standards.

WHY MANAGERS MATTER

Managers are the backbone of a team’s organisation. Through strong leadership and attention to detail, managers help:

  • Create a safe, structured, and positive environment for players and coaches.

  • Maintain clear communication between families, the centre, and coaching staff.

  • Enable teams to focus on performance by effectively handling off-court demands.

Great managers are organised, proactive, communicative, and supportive — and they help shape not only successful teams, but great experiences for everyone involved.
