TWILIGHT - 7-ASIDE 

Welcome to the Whangārei Netball Centre Twilight 7-Aside Competition!
Our Twilight series is all about bringing the community together for fun, fitness, and friendly competition under the lights. Whether you’re playing for social connection or looking to test yourself in a competitive grade, this 10-week competition provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy netball in a vibrant and supportive environment.

KEY DETAILS

  • Competition dates: Thursday nights, 8 October – 10 December 2025
  • Entries close: 1 October 2025
  • Rounds: 6:00 PM & 7:00 PM (depending on team numbers)


Game Format

  • 4 x 10-minute quarters
  • 2-minute breaks between quarters, 3-minute half-time break

Fees

  • Team fee: $320 for the series
  • Payment due Thursday, 3 October 2025 (via invoice)
  • Teams are only added to the draw once full payment is received


Grades

  • Year 5 & 6 Mixed (expressions of interest – subject to numbers)
  • Intermediate Mixed
  • Social Women’s & Mixed – fun, relaxed competition
  • Competitive Women’s & Mixed – higher level of play
    (WNC reserves the right to regrade teams if needed to keep competition fair.)

RULES

Playing Rules

  • Netball NZ rules apply
  • Rolling substitutions allowed
  • No layups
  • No jewellery, nails short & smooth (no gels permitted)

Mixed Team Rules

  • Maximum of 3 male players on court at once
  • Must be spread across the thirds:
    • 1 in shooting (GS or GA)
    • 1 in midcourt (WA, C, WD)
    • 1 in defence (GD or GK)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Equipment & Duties

  • Teams provide their own ball, first aid kit, and primary care person
  • Bibs supplied by WNC (must be returned each game, $50 fee for non-return)
  • Teams rostered for set-up/pack-down and umpiring duties

Defaults & Weather

  • Defaults must be emailed to operations@whangareinetball.co.nz by 11 AM game day
  • Late defaults after 11 AM = $50 penalty (must be paid before next game)
  • Games play in all weather except severe warnings (no catch-ups)

Code of Conduct

  • All competitions must adbide by the WNC Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in removal without refund.
