MEDIA RELEASE - Whangarei Netball Centre (WNC) Embarks on Transformative Restructure to Enhance Vision and Community Impact.


Whangarei Netball Centre (WNC) is thrilled to announce a significant restructure aimed at realigning the organization's vision, purpose, and strategic principles.  This initiative underscores WNC's commitment to delivering superior services while fostering a strong organizational culture that reflects its strategic principles.  The restructure, effective immediately, reflects the Board's dedication to adapting to the dynamic business environment and meeting the evolving needs of the netball community.

 

Key components of the restructure include:

  • Revised Leadership Structure:  WNC's board is introducing a revised leadership structure designed to promote inclusivity, innovation, and effective decision-making.  The new leadership team embodies core values and is committed to guiding the centre in line with its strategic direction.
  • Clearer Alignment with Values:  The restructure seeks to more clearly align operations with core values, making decisions, setting policies, and engaging with stakeholders in a manner that reflects a commitment to integrity, sustainability, and excellence.
  • Community Engagement and Well-being:  Recognising that the netball community is at the heart of WNC, the restructure includes initiatives to enhance engagement, communication, and well-being, ensuring that everyone remains motivated and aligned with values.
  • Employee Engagement and Well-being:  Acknowledging that employees are at the heart of the centre, the restructure includes initiatives to enhance employee engagement and well-being, ensuring that the workforce remains motivated and aligned with values.
  • Investment in Employee Development:  WNC's commitment to the professional growth and development of employees remains unwavering.  The centre will be investing in training and development programs to ensure the workforce is well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of the centre.
  • A Better Experience:  WNC is renewing its dedication to providing the highest quality experience to the netball community.  The commitment to values extends to how the centre interacts with and serves the community, delivering value and reliability.

 

Kathryn Candy, Board Chair of WNC, expressed excitement about the restructure, stating, "Our restructure is more than just a strategic move; it's a testament to our unwavering commitment and our belief in doing business responsibly.  We are confident that this realignment will not only enhance our culture but also drive positive change in the Netball community we serve."

 

WNC is committed to maintaining transparent communication with all stakeholders throughout this transformation.  The centre believes that this restructure will reinforce its mission to operate in accordance with its values, fostering an inclusive sustainable netball hub nurturing its people.

 

Additionally, WNC has accepted the resignations of both Rebecca Simper and Natalie Moon who have decided to progress their careers outside of the netball centre.  The centre expresses gratitude for the significant contributions they have made to netball and wishes them well as they start the next chapters of their lives.
