Junior (FutureFERNS) Information Year 1 through to Year 8

Why do we play modified netball for Juniors Year 1 to 6???

WNC follows the Netball NZ FutureFERNS development programme which ensures players are developing the necessary skills for their stage of physical and mental development.  The skill development games make it easy for the players to understand and also FUN!

Year 1/2 play on a monday early evening and follow a structured format - warm up, skill development games, game, warm down.

Year 3/4 & 5/6 play on a saturday morning.  It is expected that coaches will have taken the team through the skill development for that week at training and then when they come to the game, put what they are learning into practice.

FutureFERN programme & formats aim to not only grow players Netball abilities but also to help with their overall physical literacy which includes confidence, motivation, knowledge & understanding and physical competence.

Coaches - by signing up to the Coaching Portal you will have access to ALL the skill development activites from Year 1 through to Year 8, and if you follow what has been provided for you, you wont need to do any extra planning.  Just click on the ANZ logo below......
