The WNC Representative Programme focuses on developing the WHOLE player. We take a holistic approach to the program & are guided by Sport New Zealand Physical Literacy guidelines & Dr Mason Duries’ Te Whare Tapa Wha model. We want our players & coaches to not only learn about the skills required for the game but also the behaviours that make a world class player.
The program is a full season programme & will run from June through to end of August and follows a training plan. Trials will be held at the beginning of each year.
Please note - to field a Representative team there must be sufficient interest & trialist for that specific age group, and interest from a Coach and Manager. Please also read the Registration Form in full.
To be considered for a Representative team, players must play in their age group and are expected to trial - Under 14 players are encouraged to trial for the Under 14 grade only.
- Under 14 - 13 years of age as at 1 January of that current year (i.e. 1 Jan 2022 for 2022 season)
- Under 16 - 14 or 15 years of age as at 1 January of that current year (i.e. 1 Jan 2022 for 2022 season)
Under 14 and Under 16 Representative Teams will have a focus on development, attending three to four Regional Tournaments including Whangarei NC, Kerikeri NC and Mangonui NC Field Days.
